In 2016 four of the ten Henman siblings from Nova Scotia sat in their sister’s living room in beautiful Mabou, Cape Breton – doing what they always do when they get together, making music. That night the seed was planted to create a cd of original Henman songs, Edge of Heaven, 10 Kids 10 Songs. It seemed to be the right time. In 2013 the youngest sister, Patricia (Pat), and her daughter, were critically injured by a drunk driver. Then in the fall of 2016, their brother Harold had a possible life threatening incident while taking a morning walk. The good news is all ten are still here – age 56 to 70.
The Henman siblings got together at a Dartmouth studio last summer to record Edge of Heaven. Album proceeds are being donated to MADD Canada. From left, Harold Henman, Judy Henman, Jim Henman, Jean Beks, Bob Henman, Joan MacLeod, Jack Henman, Paul Henman and Pat Henman. (Missing is Steve Henman.)
